German Meissen Porcelain Covered Syrup Jug, c. 1860

German Meissen Porcelain Covered Syrup Jug, c. 1860. Underglaze blue cross swords mark & single scratch mark under the cross swords indicating it was sold in the white and decorated outside the factory. Basketweave border on lid and around the top rim. This wonderful piece also has a twig handle with leaves at terminals, rose finial, red tulip, rose and sprig decoration on fluted body. 5 1/2 inches high.
